Jalagam Session: Hyderabad 
In collaboration with DCB Bank, and NIRDPR as a knowledge partner, the S M Sehgal Foundation team organized the third workshop in the Jalagam series, focusing on capacity building and experience sharing, held in Hyderabad, Telangana, on January 23, 2024. Panel discussions featured technological solutions to promote water security at the grassroots, community-led models of water security, rural water security, and climate resilience. Read more . . .

Partnership Highlight

Project Parivartan Advancements 
S M Sehgal Foundation hosted an exhibition and project-sharing event in Shergarh, Chata blocks of Mathura, focused on agricultural advancements under Project Parivartan. Attendees included Mr. Abhishek Samadhiya, CSR project manager, HDFC; Mr. N.P. Singh, program lead; Mr. Ashutosh Singh, assistant program lead, S M Sehgal Foundation; the Gram Vikas Samiti and village heads from all fifteen villages, beneficiaries, and staff from the Sehgal Foundation. The event featured the use of modern methods to increase income, project sustainability, beneficiary issues, and intervention interaction.

Month At A Glance

Welcoming the I.A.S. Trainee Officers 
Twenty dynamic trainee officers visited the S M Sehgal Foundation office in Gurugram, engaging with the foundation team, then visited intervention villages in Nuh district, Haryana, to see the rural interventions. The insightful visit facilitated through the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, is a crucial component of their Bharat Darshan under the I.A.S. Training curriculum. Visitors explored various facets of rural development, from water initiatives to agricultural transformations and school improvements.

Iowa Students Visit S M Sehgal Foundation 
A group of students from Purdue University and the University of Iowa recently visited the Government Senior Secondary School in Mahuakhurd, Alwar, that underwent a remarkable transformation as part of the Transform Lives one school at a time program of S M Sehgal Foundation. Visitors expressed delight upon witnessing the positive changes, particularly praising the digital library implementation and the school's overall transformation efforts. The group also visited the Community Radio  Connect and recorded a program focusing on water conservation.

Cyber Crime Awareness Session 

In a significant stride toward making cyber life more secure, S M Sehgal Foundation hosted an awareness session on cyber security led by the Gurugram Cyber Crime Police Team. The invaluable information disseminated during the session about the best cybersecurity practices held immense relevance in the contemporary digital world.

Conferences and Workshops

Mr. Pawan Kumar, principal lead in Agriculture Development at S M Sehgal Foundation, spoke about the farmer producer organizations, their past context, current standing, prospective , and future developments. APMAS (Mahila Abhivruddhi Society, Andhra Pradesh), Hyderabad, organized the conference.

Ms. Pooja. O Murada, principal lead, Outreach for Development at S M Sehgal Foundation, attended the Partners Meet organized by Shiv Nadar University. She was invited to join the roundtable discussion, Industry-Academia Partnership: The Why, How, and the Means.

Mr. Salahuddin Saiphy, principal lead of Water Management, S M Sehgal Foundation, attended the Public Policy Dialogue 2024 at Bharti Institute of Public Policy, India School of Business, Hyderabad, as an expert for the roundtable on Climate Change and Justice.

Mr. Lalit Sharma, principal lead, Water, Research and Training, S M Sehgal Foundation recently participated in the WASH Summit CYDA in Pune. During the summit, he showcased the organization's efforts in the field of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) innovations.
