On National Broadcasting Day, 23rd July 2023, S
M Sehgal Foundation's community radio Alfaz-e-Mewat
was honored with the National Community Radio Award for sustainability. The jury
considered content, technical, community participation, and financial sustainability
in their selection criteria. Mrs. Pooja. O. Murada, principal lead, Outreach
for Development, S M Sehgal Foundation, received the award on behalf of the
foundation from Hon. Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Anurag
Singh Thakur. This is the second time community radio Alfaz-e-Mewat has received a national
award.

Certificate of Appreciation

S
M Sehgal Foundation has been honored with an appreciation letter from the chief
development officer of Champawat, Uttarakhand, in furtherance of all the
groundwork the foundation is doing for the development of the farmers of rural
regions in the district. The efforts have been well recognized, and will reach
more people with this continuous support.

has awarded S M Sehgal Foundation a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of
the significant contribution toward impacting the lives of 12,562,031
individuals, helping to achieve this remarkable milestone. S M Sehgal Foundation
has made a substantial impact by enhancing the capacity of grassroots
implementers in India and twenty other countries through a combination of
in-person and virtual programs for attaining the goal of clean water and sanitation
for all.

Mamta Kholia made animal husbandry her main business to support her husband and family. She went to the forest daily to bring grass for her cows, bullocks, calves, and goats to supplement their food. Pond
Inauguration with Lady Bamford Charitable Trust

With the collaborative efforts of Lady
Bamford Charitable Trust (LBCT), a CSR entity of JCB India Limited and S M
Sehgal Foundation, a pond in Devli village, Palwal, Haryana, was rejuvenated.
The total water storage capacity of the pond is 8.7 million liters. The pond now
provides a surface water source and also helps recharge groundwater. A special
committee from within the community will continue to maintain the pond.

Transformed School Inauguration

Govt. Z. P. High School at Pudur village,
Medchal Malkajgiri, Telangana, was recently transformed under the Transform
Lives one school at a time program. The school was inaugurated by Shri C.H. Malla Reddy, minister
for Labour and Employment, Factories, Govt. of Telangana. Smt. Shailaja Vijaya Anand Reddy
(Zila Praja Parishad Territorial Constituency), Smt. Rajitha Raja Malla Reddy
(Mandal Praja Parishad), Shri. Venkat Reddy (Vice. Mandal Praja Prashid),
school administration, Gram Panchayat and others attended the inauguration. The program will benefit 220 schoolchildren, providing
an enriched learning experience.

Mrs. Anjali Makhija, trustee and CEO of S M Sehgal Foundation, was the invited speaker at the Civil 20 SEWA (Sense of Service, Philanthropy, and Volunteerism), 2023. This insightful session brought together a diverse group of inspiring women working relentlessly to bring about positive societal change. The panelists shared personal anecdotes of how they were encouraged to take this path, and its transformative impact on their lives and those they served. Each panelist then took turns sharing initiatives they had undertaken and the challenges they faced along the way.

Farmer Producer Training Sessions

In a display of collaborative efforts, S
M Sehgal Foundation joined Samunnati Financial Service Pvt Ltd to organize an
enlightening and empowering financial workshop at the picturesque Myrada Campus
in Kamasamudram, Kolar, Karnataka. This significant event occurred on a bright
morning and became pivotal for the district's five Farmer Producer
Organization (FPO) governing bodies. The workshop equipped the FPO governing
bodies with essential knowledge and insights into the economic landscape,
mainly focusing on credit and financial linkages. Sridhar Easwaram, CEO of
Samunnati Foundation, highlighted the economic outlook, explaining the credit
and financial ties to the FPO governing bodies.

S M Sehgal
Foundation delivered Fluoride and Fluorosis Mitigation training at the National
Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad. Special attention was given to
educating participants about the health impacts of fluoride and providing
comprehensive guidance on prevention, management, and mitigation strategies.
Mr. Salahuddin Saiphy, principal lead, Water Management, S M Sehgal Foundation, participated in the Jal Jeevan Mission write-shop at NIRDPR, which included a training module development exercise of 500 aspirational blocks for accelerating the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission and achieving 100% coverage of Functional Household Tap connections (FHTCs) by March 2024.

Throughout history, games have had a
significant role in transferring knowledge. They encompass strategies,
approaches, and techniques enabling individuals, groups, and organizations to
collaborate for communities to participate actively.
One similar training was organized by S M
Sehgal Foundation in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, for community engagement and
sustainability, focusing on building capacities, sharing development concerns,
and devising a solution.
