The Mosaic Company and S M Sehgal Foundation collaborated to commemorate their fifteen-year partnership in enhancing agriculture and rural development. The double-event evening at the S M Sehgal Foundation auditorium in Gurugram, India, included the annual Mosaic Company Foundation Awards recognizing exceptional agricultural scientists.
For the last fifteen years, this collaboration has focused on changing farmers' lives in rural areas. The initiative has already reached five states, covering districts such as Nuh in Haryana, Alwar in Rajasthan, Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, Kolar in Karnataka, and Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
In honor of these achievements, a coffee-table book launch and video release showcased the efforts and accomplishments of the project, demonstrating how rural communities have benefited.
The dedicated partnership between The Mosaic Company and S M Sehgal Foundation is unwavering, and both teams look forward to continued success in their mission to enhance the livelihoods of rural communities.

PM SHRI Yojana The Government Senior Secondary School Khareda, in Alwar, Rajasthan, which was transformed under S M Sehgal Foundation's Transform Lives one school at a time, has been selected for the PM SHRI YOJANA.
This initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is intended to provide top-notch education that is accessible to everyone by investing in establishing a smart education infrastructure and other amenities to empower students to take an active role in their education.

E-Resource Center Nuthankal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana, witnessed the inauguration of an E-Resource Center for women and children. The center, renovated by Sehgal Foundation, was set up with a vision to create awareness of the social and educational aspects of hygiene, menstrual health and nutrition. Ms. Udayashree, the anganwadi child development project officer, the sarpanch, ward members, and anganwadi workers participated in the event along with local women.

Solar Lights Installed Mr. Jay Sehgal, along with other team members of S M Sehgal Foundation, inaugurated the installation of fifty-one solar streetlights in Chinnagottimukla village, Shivampet, Medak, Telangana, on April 15, 2023. Thirty-five solar-charging starter boxes were distributed free of cost to light the main street of the village.
The event was attended by a large gathering of farmers, activists, and local villagers. The foundation team interacted with community members, local women, and farmers to better understand their challenges and experiences in association with the project and Sehgal Foundation.

G D Goenka students visit community radio station. Students from G D Goenka School of Journalism visited the S M Sehgal Foundation community radio station, Alfaz-e-Mewat, in Nuh, Haryana. During the interaction with the radio team and community volunteers, students were briefed about the different programs and discussion topics the broadcasting channel develops and presents to reach communities. The students along with the community radio team recorded a program for Earth Day, and shared their views on different sustainable practices and interventions undertaken for environmental conservation.

Launch of Mitti Ki Khushbu A new radio series, Mitti Ki Khushbu: Mitti ka Gyan Kheti Ki Jaan, has been launched on Community Radio Alfaz-e-Mewat FM 107.8 (a S M Sehgal Foundation initiative) in collaboration with the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA). The series, comprised of twelve episodes, educates farmers on soil health and its impact on farming techniques and livelihoods.

Advisory group meetings and field visit S M Sehgal Foundation Trustee, Mr. Bhamy Shenoy, and Mrs. Suman Shenoy visited the sites of interventions in agriculture, water management, and Transform Lives one school at a time in the villages of Nuh, Haryana; and Alwar, Rajasthan. The two-day field visit revolved around observing and studying the foundation's work under the mentioned programs.

Check Dam Inauguration A twin inauguration ceremony took place in Rajasthan in the presence of Mr. Ben Pratt, SVP Mosaic Company, who inaugurated the plaque of the transformed school at Bajeda village and the check dam at Nimli Ki Dhani village of Bansur, Alwar. Mr. Jay Sehgal, S M Sehgal Foundation trustee; Mr. Shashikant Bhinde, GM Mosaic India; Mr. Robin Edvin, managing director, Mosaic India; Mr. D. R. Chandra, agronomist, Mosaic India; and Mr. Pawan Kumar and Mr. Saurabh Srivastava of S M Sehgal Foundation attended the event along with the village sarpanch and school administration.

Drinking Water System With support from Ashland Specialty Ingredients G.P., S M Sehgal Foundation is executing the Sustainable Guar Project, which aims to transform 50 villages of Sriganganagar district in Rajasthan by enhancing crop productivity through sustainable agricultural practices, raising awareness on community health, and promoting a conducive learning environment through school transformation.
Ashland Specialty Ingredients G.P. and S M Sehgal Foundation teams joined hands to establish a new toilet block and drinking water system in Government Upper Primary Girls School in Manjiwala village, Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. The inauguration ceremony held on April 13, 2023, was graced by Mr. Bhupesh Mahale, head Sourcing - Asia Pacific (excluding China) at Ashland India Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Rajesh Kedia, director, Chimique (India) Ltd; Mr. Pawan Kumar, principal lead, Agriculture, along with Ms. Debika Goswami, implementation lead, and Ms. Neema Joshi, manager, Partnerships and Fundraising, S M Sehgal Foundation. The ceremony was attended by the villagers, students, and schoolteachers.

IIT Panel Discussion Mr. Sahaluddin Saiphy, principal lead, Water Management, S M Sehgal Foundation, was the invited speaker, in a panel discussion on “Tech in Rural Areas.”The event was a part of the Social Impact Conclave (SoPact) at IIT Madras, Chennai. Mr. Saiphy, S M Sehgal Foundation talked about the impact of water harvesting interventions, including, check dams, tanks, soak-pits, biosand filters, and various initiatives of S M Sehgal Foundation undertaken in rural India. The panel was highly appreciated by the students and faculty.

Online Capacity Building Program S M Sehgal Foundation with CAWST is starting a virtual capacity-building program on Drinking Water Quality Testing, beginning May 3rd, 2023. The course is particularly suited for those who are engaged in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), community development, or health projects, and are interested in gaining knowledge about testing drinking water quality.
